What it is meant to be
The completion of the crash road and gate on both sides of the runway at Asaba International Airport in Oshimili South Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at strengthening airport safety infrastructure and improving operational efficiency within the airport environment. The project involves 870m length of road, 6m pavement width, 1m x 2 sides shoulder width, 8m clearance width and 1 crash gate. The scope of works for the road includes site clearance, removal of topsoil and unsuitable materials, earth fill, concrete works comprising concrete drains, culverts, stone pitching, soil cement stabilization, crash gates and pavement surfacing comprising crushed stone base, one layer of asphalt and thermoplastic road markings. The project will enhance safety and security operations at the airport, improve access for emergency and maintenance services, and support efficient airport management. It will also contribute to improved aviation infrastructure, boost transportation development, and promote economic activities associated with air travel and commerce in Delta State. -->
What has been checked
The ground at these coordinates
One of these looks is disputed and we are not calling it a comparison. The archive's own classifier reports the site clear; the picture is full of near-white pixels anyway. That is either low cloud the classifier missed or bare ground, and nothing here can tell you which — which is exactly why a picture from orbit is not a site visit. From satellite
Copernicus Sentinel-2, rendered by the archive. A picture of the ground is not a site visit: it cannot say what was built, who built it, or whether it works.
